SCS Offices
New Build Extension to Each End of Existing SCS Offices, Ballanette, Baldrine, Isle of Man.
The practice was commissioned by SCS Ltd. to design extensions to their existing office, accommodated within a converted barn, to provide additional office space, a health & safety training room, a board room and ancillary staff and disabled WC facilities.
The design solution was to incorporate extensions to the western and eastern ends of the existing barn which followed traditional vernacular forms, whilst allowing larger glazed areas to provide good natural daylight levels, and to maximise the views of the surrounding countryside.
In addition the practice obtained approval for a large bird hide and viewing mound for the establishment of the Ballanette wildlife reserve.
